Dharwad pedha, made by the family that brought it here
The lineage traces to a migration from Unnao in the nineteenth century. Several shops in the same street sell pedha; the GI attaches to the product and the place, not to any one signboard, so taste before you commit.

Handloom Ilkal sarees bought at the loom
Powerloom copies are sold everywhere under the same name. On a handloom saree the tope teni join is visible as interlocked loops on the reverse; a printed or stitched pallu is not the thing.

Eight kilometres from Ilkal, and the two towns' products are bought as a pair.
Gum-and-jaggery karadantu, sold in cut slabs
Both towns have made it for generations and each will tell you the other's is inferior. Neither holds a geographical indication.
