How to reach
By air
- Sindhudurg (Chipi) Airport (SDW) — At Parule near Kudal, the region's only airport, with limited scheduled service.
- Kolhapur Airport (KLH) — Over the ghat, and often the practical option for Sindhudurg.
- Goa (Dabolim and Mopa) (GOI) — Mopa is under two hours from Sawantwadi and Vengurla, and is the usual approach from outside India.
By rail
- Ratnagiri (RN) — The main Konkan Railway station for the northern half of the region.
- Kudal (KUDL) — For Malvan, Tarkarli, Sawantwadi and Pinguli.
- Sawantwadi Road (SWV) — For the ghat slope and the southern coast.
- Chiplun (CHI) — For the Vashishti valley and the Dapoli–Guhagar coast.
- Kankavli (KKW) — For Devgad and the central Sindhudurg coast.
By road

Getting around
The Konkan Railway, opened through in 1998, is what made this region reachable in a day rather than two; it runs the length of it in tunnel and viaduct because the terrain gives no other option. Beyond the stations it is state buses, shared jeeps and rented two-wheelers, and distances that look small on a map take longer, because every valley has to be entered and left separately.
