How to reach
By air
- Maharana Pratap Airport, Udaipur (UDR) — At Dabok, 22 km east of the city. The only airport inside the region, with domestic service only.
- Jaipur International Airport (JAI) — About 400 km north; used when the Udaipur flights are full or expensive.
- Ahmedabad (AMD) — Around 260 km from Udaipur by road, and the usual international entry point for the southern slope.
By rail
- Udaipur City (UDZ) — The terminus for the lake basin; overnight services from Delhi, Jaipur and Ahmedabad.
- Chittaurgarh Junction (COR) — The plateau's junction, on both the Delhi–Mumbai trunk line and the Ajmer–Ratlam route, so almost everything passes through it.
- Mavli Junction (MVJ) — The railhead most often used for Nathdwara, about 30 km from it.
- Falna (FA) — On the Ajmer–Ahmedabad line, and the usual rail approach to Ranakpur and Kumbhalgarh from the west.
- Bhilwara (BHL) — For the northern plateau and the Devnarayan phad country around Asind.
By road

Getting around
Autos and app cabs in Udaipur; shared jeeps for the hill villages, which is often the only way in. Udaipur to Nathdwara is about 48 km, to Kumbhalgarh about 85 km on hill road, and to Chittorgarh about 115 km. The forest roads on the Aravalli slope close during heavy monsoon without notice.
