How to reach
By air
- Vijayawada International Airport, Gannavaram (VGA) — The region's main airport, about 20 km from the city, with Gulf and Southeast Asian links alongside domestic flights.
- Rajahmundry Airport (RJA) — The convenient arrival for the Godavari delta and Konaseema.
By rail
- Vijayawada Junction (BZA) — One of the busiest junctions in India, where the Chennai–Kolkata coastal trunk route meets the line west to Hyderabad. Almost everything on the east coast stops here.
- Rajahmundry (RJY) — On the Godavari's right bank, and the access point for the delta and the gorge launches.
- Guntur Junction (GNT) — For Guntur, Mangalagiri, Amaravati and the Palnadu edge.
- Tenali Junction (TEL) — A useful alternative to Vijayawada for the southern delta.
- Nellore (NLR) — For the southern coast, Pulicat and Nelapattu.
By road

Getting around
Buses and autos everywhere; the delta is dense enough that public transport genuinely works. Vijayawada to Rajahmundry is about 160 km, Rajahmundry to Amalapuram about 80 km through the canal country, and Vijayawada to Machilipatnam about 70 km. In Konaseema, allow for ferries — they are scheduled, they are slow, and in high water they stop.
