Vidarbha · Deccan Inland Plateau
भूभाग और पारिस्थितिक अंचल
Hot semi-arid in the west, sub-humid in the east, and among the most extreme temperature regimes in India. Nagpur, Akola and Chandrapur regularly record the country's highest May maxima at 46–48 °C, because the region sits far from any coast at low elevation with a shallow, heat-retentive soil. Rainfall climbs from about 700–900 mm in the Payanghat to 1,200–1,600 mm in the Gadchiroli forests — a doubling across one region, and the reason one half grows cotton and the other rice.

साल भर
| मौसम | महीने | सामान्य | कैसा रहता है |
|---|---|---|---|
| Winter | November–February | 8–30 °C | Cold enough for frost in the Melghat. The orange harvest is on, the Zadipatti theatre season opens after the paddy is in, and this is the only comfortable window for the forest districts. |
| Summer | March–mid June | 27–48 °C | Brutal, and the reason Vidarbha appears in national weather bulletins. Tiger sightings peak in May because the animals concentrate at the few remaining water sources — the same heat that empties the towns fills the parks. |
| Monsoon | mid-June–September | 24–34 °C | The cotton and soybean season. Almost none of the cotton is irrigated, so the crop is decided by whether the rain holds through the boll-formation weeks in August and September. |
| Post-monsoon | October | 20–33 °C | Rice harvest in the east, orange sizing in the west, and the Dhamma Chakra Pravartan gathering at Nagpur. |
घूमने का सबसे अच्छा समयNovember to February for everything except tiger sightings, which are best in April and May if the heat is survivable. Mid-October if the point is Deekshabhoomi on the day. The Gadchiroli forests are effectively closed by the monsoon.
