Saurashtra · Arid Northwest

भूभाग और पारिस्थितिक अंचल

Semi-arid to dry sub-humid, with rainfall that varies more across the peninsula than across most whole states — roughly 450 mm a year on the Halar coast and in Jhalawad, against over 1,000 mm on the Gir hills, which lift the monsoon enough to hold a deciduous forest. Almost all of it falls between mid-June and mid-September. Winter nights drop to 8–12 °C inland; May afternoons reach 42–44 °C in Jhalawad but stay several degrees lower on the coast, where the sea breeze arrives by midday.

मौसममहीनेसामान्यकैसा रहता है
WinterNovember–February10–30 °CThe working season. Girnar's Lili Parikrama and Palitana's Kartik Purnima yatra both fall here, weddings and dayro nights run through it, and the adadiya and gum-based winter sweets are made only now.
SummerMarch–mid June25–44 °CGrazing land dries out and herds move. The Kesar mango is harvested from Talala through May and June, and the household drink shifts almost entirely to chaas.
MonsoonMid June–September25–35 °CGir and the other protected forests close to visitors from 16 June to 15 October. The peninsula's dams either fill in a few weeks or do not fill at all — there is very little middle case.
Post-monsoonOctober22–35 °CNavratri, and the peninsula's most visible season. Garba runs for nine nights in every village square and city ground, followed by fafda and jalebi eaten on Dussehra morning.

घूमने का सबसे अच्छा समयNovember to February for the forest, the coast and the temple towns together. Gir is shut from mid-June to mid-October, so a monsoon trip is a coast-and-temples trip only. Navratri, in September or October, is worth planning around if the point is to see garba where it is danced rather than staged.
