Nimar · Central Highlands & Forest Belt
भूभाग और पारिस्थितिक अंचल
The hottest inhabited part of central India. Both flanking ranges wring out the monsoon before it reaches the floor, so rainfall runs 700–900 mm against Malwa's 800–1,100, and the valley walls trap the summer heat: May afternoons at 45–47 °C are ordinary, and the nights do not cool the way the plateau's do. Winter is short, dry and pleasant. The practical consequence is agricultural — jowar, maize and cotton instead of wheat, and a dependence on the river and on well irrigation that the plateau above does not have.

साल भर
| मौसम | महीने | सामान्य | कैसा रहता है |
|---|---|---|---|
| Winter | November–February | 10–30 °C | Short and the best time to be here. The Narmada Parikrama walking season is at its height, and the cotton is picked. |
| Summer | March–June | 28–47 °C | Severe. Work shifts to before ten and after five, the raabdi and buttermilk economy takes over, and mahua flowers are collected off the forest floor in April and May. |
| Monsoon | Late June–September | 24–34 °C | The Narmada rises fast because its tributaries are short and steep. Ghats go under; the river's flood level is marked on the walls at Maheshwar and Omkareshwar. |
| Post-monsoon | October | 20–34 °C | Warm and clear; the Narmada is at its fullest and the ghat towns are at their best. |
घूमने का सबसे अच्छा समयNovember to February for everything. Narmada Jayanti in Magh brings the ghats at Maheshwar and Omkareshwar to their fullest; avoid April to June entirely unless the point is the mahua harvest.
