Nanjil Nadu · Eastern Coastal Plains
भूभाग और पारिस्थितिक अंचल
Tropical, and the only part of Tamil Nadu that gets a full share of both monsoons. The southwest monsoon reaches it from June because the Aralvaimozhi gap and the low southern Ghats let the wind through rather than blocking it, and the northeast monsoon returns from October. Annual rainfall runs from roughly 1,000 mm at the dry eastern tip to well over 3,000 mm on the Agasthyamalai slope — an enormous gradient across sixty kilometres.

साल भर
| मौसम | महीने | सामान्य | कैसा रहता है |
|---|---|---|---|
| Southwest monsoon | June–September | 25–33 °C | Wind and rain through the Aralvaimozhi gap, hard enough at the eastern tip to strip a beach. The wind farms run at their highest output in these months. |
| Northeast monsoon | October–December | 24–32 °C | The heavier of the two on the eastern side. The reservoirs fill here, and the kodai festival season that follows depends on them having done so. |
| Winter and the dry months | January–March | 22–33 °C | Clear and mild, and the best time on the coast. Pongal, Chitra Pournami and the Mandaikadu festival fall through this stretch. |
| Summer | April–May | 27–37 °C | Hot inland, tempered on both coasts. Tapioca is lifted, sliced and sun-dried in this window because it is the only reliably rainless one. |
घूमने का सबसे अच्छा समयOctober to March. Kanyakumari itself is best in the two or three days around a full moon in April, when sunset over one sea and moonrise over another can be seen from the same rock. The southwest monsoon months are worth it only if the point is to see how much wind actually comes through the gap.
