- Jammu Airport (IXJ) — About 8 km from the city centre, with services to Delhi, Srinagar and the metros. Winter fog and afternoon weather cause more cancellations here than most travellers expect.

- Jammu Tawi (JAT) — For decades the northern terminus of the Indian railway network and still the region's main junction.
- Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK) — The railhead for the shrine, 45 km north of Jammu, and the busiest station in the region by footfall.
- Udhampur (UHP) — For Patnitop, Ramnagar and the Chenab approach.
- Kathua (KTHU) — For Basohli, Bani and the Ravi-side kandi.

Matador minibuses and shared sumos hold the hill routes; autos and app cabs work inside Jammu. Katra is 45 km from Jammu and the last stretch to the shrine is on foot, by pony, by palanquin or by ropeway. Roads on the Chenab approach close for landslides in the monsoon and for snow above Patnitop in midwinter — check before committing to a same-day return.
