Braj · Upper Indus–Gangetic Plain
Pushtimarg Haveli Corridor
The Vallabhite temple system — the eight daily services, the seasonal bhog menu, haveli kirtan and the pichwai cloths hung behind the image — carried from Govardhan to Nathdwara in 1672 when the Shrinathji image was moved, and from there to Kota, Kankroli, Ahmedabad and Bombay.
Nathdwara developed pichwai painting into a full workshop tradition Braj never had; Braj kept the Raslila and the rasiya, which Mewar did not.
Gaudiya Corridor
Chaitanya's tradition, running between Nabadwip, Puri and Vrindavan for five centuries — sankirtan singing, the Goswami textual tradition, and a continuous movement of Bengali pilgrims, priests and widows into Braj.
Bengal kept the ecstatic congregational kirtan; Braj kept the lila performance and the deity-service calendar. The theology is shared; the practice looks entirely different in the two places.
Braj Bhasha Literary Corridor
The language itself, as the literary standard of northern India from roughly the fifteenth to the nineteenth century — Riti poetry at the Rajput and Bundela courts, much of the Dasam Granth, and the dhrupad and khayal song-texts still sung in Braj across the classical repertoire.
Sikh usage preserved a devotional-heroic Braj that Braj itself did not keep; the Chambal districts kept it as spoken language while Mathura increasingly speaks Hindi.
Holi Cycle Corridor
The extended Braj Holi — lathmar play, hori song, phag and rasiya — across the Braj-Mewat-Bundelkhand belt, with the same repertoire and forty-day calendar.
Barsana and Nandgaon kept the staves and the town-versus-town structure; Bundelkhand turned the same songs into the phag-Alha performance tradition.
Global Vaishnav Corridor
The temple network built out of Braj since 1966 — ISKCON's Krishna-Balaram temple at Vrindavan is the pivot of a congregation on every continent, and its pilgrims have made Vrindavan permanently multilingual.
The international movement standardised practice and translated it; the local temples kept the Braj Bhasha liturgy and the hereditary service families.
