हवाई मार्ग

  • Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata (CCU) — The region's only international gateway on the Indian side; about 17 km from central Kolkata.
  • Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport, Andal (RDP) — On the region's western edge, useful for the Bardhaman and Katwa approach.

रेल मार्ग

  • Howrah Junction (HWH) — For the Bardhaman, Kalna, Katwa and western delta lines, and everything beyond.
  • Sealdah (SDAH) — For the Nadia and North 24 Parganas lines — Krishnanagar, Santipur, Ranaghat, Bongaon — and the densest suburban network in the region.
  • Krishnanagar City Junction (KNJ) — For Nabadwip, Mayapur and the Ghurni workshops.
  • Bandel Junction (BDC) — For the Basilica, Chinsurah, Chandernagore and Serampore, all within a few stops.
  • Berhampore Court (BPC) — For Murshidabad, Hazarduari and Khoshbagh; Murshidabad station itself is a stop further north.
  • Katwa Junction (KWAE) — For Kalna, the Bhagirathi temple towns and the crossing into Nadia.

Trains do most of the work: the Sealdah and Howrah suburban networks reach almost every town in the western delta, and are the sensible way to move. Kolkata has a metro, trams on a few surviving routes and app cabs. Beyond the railheads, expect a shared auto or a toto for the last ten kilometres, and a ferry wherever a river has no bridge — which is often.
