| Basava Jayanti | Vaishakha Shukla Tritiya (April–May) | Observed with particular weight at Basavana Bagewadi and Kudalasangama, the two ends of Basavanna's life that lie in this region. |
| Siddharoodha Math rathotsava | Magha (February–March) | The chariot festival at the Siddharoodha Swami math in Hubballi, which draws pilgrims from across northern Karnataka and effectively closes the surrounding streets for the day. |
| Jokumaraswamy | The week after Ganesh Chaturthi (August–September) | The clay rain deity carried house to house with frank songs, then given to the water or the field. A rite that is entirely about whether the monsoon will finish the job. |
| Karahunnime | The full moon after the first sowing rains | Cattle are washed, painted, garlanded and run between fires or through a village street. On a plain that still ploughs behind bullocks in places, it is a working animal's festival before it is a religious one. |
