कैसे पहुँचें

हवाई मार्ग

  • Silchar Airport (Kumbhirgram) (IXS) — About 25 km north of Silchar, with connections to Kolkata, Guwahati and Delhi. It is the practical way into the valley — the road over the Barail is long and unreliable.

रेल मार्ग

  • Silchar (SCL) — The valley terminus, and the station where the events of 19 May 1961 took place. The memorial hall is on the platform side.
  • Badarpur Junction — The junction where the line from the north divides for Silchar and for the border towns.
  • Karimganj Junction — For the border belt and Son Beel.

सड़क मार्ग

स्थानीय आवाजाही

Shared autos and e-rickshaws within Silchar, buses and shared Sumos between the three district towns, and country boats in the wet months where the road goes under. Silchar to Karimganj is about 60 km, Silchar to Hailakandi about 30 km; Silchar to Guwahati is around 300 km by road but a full day, and most people fly.
