  • Lucknow Charbagh (LKO) — Worth arriving at for the building alone — a 1926 station whose plan is said to read as a chessboard from the air.
  • Lucknow Junction (LJN) — The adjacent North Eastern Railway terminus, sharing the same forecourt.

Autos, e-rickshaws and app cabs in Lucknow, plus a north–south metro line through Charbagh. Ayodhya is about 135 km from Lucknow by road or rail. The Ghaghara districts are best done by road and by daylight — the flood season closes minor routes without much notice.
